Terms of Sale & Service

1. Parties to the Agreement

These Terms of Sale and Service govern all quotes, custom PC builds, repairs, remote support, and hardware sales provided by Quickstart Computers, a sole proprietorship trading from Kloof, KwaZulu-Natal, 3610, South Africa.

By requesting a quote, approving a job, or purchasing via our online payment gateway, you enter into a legally binding agreement under the South African Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) and Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA).

3. Custom PC Orders, Deposits & Lead Times

• Custom Builds: Custom PC assemblies require advance payment or an agreed deposit prior to component ordering from distributors. Once components are procured, assemblies cannot be arbitrarily cancelled without accounting for supplier restocking fees.
• Lead Times: Standard custom build lead times are typically 3 to 7 business days from payment clearance to completion of bench stress testing. Lead times are estimates and may vary due to supplier stock arrival or courier schedules.
• Assembly & Quality Control: Every system includes professional cable management, BIOS firmware update, memory profile tuning (XMP/EXPO), and a minimum 4-hour synthetic thermal stress test before dispatch.

4. Payment Methods

We accept payments via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) directly to our FNB business account, as well as Visa, Mastercard, and Instant EFT via PayFast (Pty) Ltd.

Card details are entered directly on PayFast's PCI-DSS compliant secure servers; Quickstart Computers never stores, accesses, or processes your payment card numbers.

5. Two-Year Hardware Bench Warranty

All complete custom PC systems built by Quickstart Computers include our 2-Year Bench Warranty:

• Labour & Diagnostics: Free diagnostic bench time and warranty claim handling on defective components for 24 months from delivery.
• Manufacturer Warranties: All new hardware carries official South African distributor warranties (typically 12 to 36 months depending on the component). We facilitate distributor RMA replacements directly on your behalf.
• Exclusions: Warranty does not cover physical accidental damage, lightning/power surge damage (we recommend an approved surge plug or UPS), liquid spills, unauthorized modifications, or malicious software infections.

6. Delivery, Collection & Risk

Delivery is available throughout Greater Durban and nationwide via reputable courier services. Risk of loss or damage transfers to the customer upon physical receipt of the delivery.

Please inspect packages upon arrival. If outer packaging shows visible transit damage, note it on the waybill and notify us within 24 hours.

7. Data Responsibility & Backups

While we take the utmost care during diagnostics, drive upgrades, and repairs, the customer is strictly responsible for backing up all personal, critical, and business data prior to submitting hardware for service.

Quickstart Computers cannot be held liable for incidental data loss resulting from hardware failure, drive corruption, or operating system reinstalls, except where directly caused by gross negligence.

Quickstart Computers is not registered for VAT. Prices shown are the total you pay; no VAT is charged or shown separately, and no VAT invoice can be issued.
